Started in 2007, Libraryverse came out of a new way of looking at books online. When we looked out at other internet sites, it was obvious that while many offered eBooks to download or offered books to read online, none of them that we found really looked at the end product that they provided and asked whether or not this is what works best you, the average online reader on the internet. Most books that can be read online were just pages and pages of text to scroll through with no real way to reference where you were, so that you could go back to it later. Alternately, some of the sites had ways to buffer the entire book so that you can read it through a PDF reader, which takes a lot of time to download.

The vision for Libraryverse came from the idea that you, the reader, should be able to look at your favorite book online, without having to scroll through pages and pages of text on a single page and without needing to download the entire contents of a book to read the pages that you want to read. Our pages load individually as you select them, and you can select the page that you want through either chapter references, or page references. You have complete control over where you go. All of our books are public domain in the United States, so why shouldn't you read them to your heart's content, just like a brick and mortar library would allow? For those of you who really like "normal" libraries, we apologize for not having any late fees for overdue books. If it makes your conscious any feel better, we encourage you to donate any late fees that you might feel that you owe to us to your local public library instead.

We designed our marketing plan from a new way of looking at marketing as well. Instead of trying to get one million people to give us one dollar, we decided to figure out how to give one million people $100 worth of value for free. If they liked the value, then they could keep it for a small fee. Therefore, you can read all of our books free of charge online. If you really like the book, or just want to have a copy to read some other way, you can buy a copy for only $4.95 each. The online version is exactly the same text as the downloadable version, so you can easily see what you are getting before you buy it.

Most of all, we at Libraryverse hope that you enjoy reading our books. We will continue to add more books over time for you to enjoy, so feel free to return. If you have any particular suggestions for us, or have a particular public domain book that you would like to see on our site, please feel free to contact us.
